Today’s children are growing up in an increasingly complex and challenging world, living their lives seamlessly offline and online. This presents many exciting opportunities for their personal development and an education that equips them with competencies that enable them to unlock their talents and interests, flourish and succeed.

At this time of ubiquitous stress and anxiety, THE BIG THINK dialogic programme explicitly teaches children about skills for success - including mental health protective strategies.  It equips learners with tools and resources to cope well and addresses issues that could interfere with their quality of life, learning and wellbeing (eg difficulty in regulating emotions, concentrating and interaction with peers).

The sets of Assembly and Lesson kits (60 for ages 5 to 7 and 60 for ages 7 to 11) progressively nurture personal, social and emotional skills so participants can make consistently good choices, be safe, build their individual characters, develop healthy habits, learn how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in positive ways, think about the kind of person they want to be and fulfil their ambitions.

THE BIG THINK’s structured, systematic, supportive approach to the rounded development of children builds on school values using a framework of 5 core values: TRUTH, COMMUNITY, PEACE, RESPONSIBILITY and LOVE.

TRUTH sessions foster SELF-AWARENESS

PEACE sessions instil SELF-MANAGEMENT

RESPONSIBILITY sessions develop RESPONSIBLE DECISION-MAKING

LOVE sessions nurture RELATIONSHIP SKILLS

COMMUNITY sessions widen SOCIAL AWARENESS

  • The session topics align with the statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum, saving teachers hours of preparation and deepening children’s learning.

  • The engaging syllabus deepens and brings Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education schemes of work to life and prepares young citizens well for our fast-changing world as they gradually gain a toolkit of essential 21st-century competencies.

  • The carefully designed components making up each Assembly and Lesson pack mean children benefit from high quality, integrated Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development, enabling all to think independently, make good choices, thrive and maximise their potential.

THE BIG THINK is celebrated as a comprehensive, purposeful, whole-school, whole-child dialogic programme. It provides a constant flow of opportunities and tasks so that children aged 5 to 11 can lay solid foundations for their life journeys.

As young citizens enjoy practising their new skills in the safety of their classrooms and then applying them in different day-to-day contexts, they delight in making tangible progress. “THE BIG THINK is the best lesson ever!”

Teachers, parents and carers take great pleasure in seeing children blossom, achieve and look to the future with confidence.

This innovative, evidence-informed programme places learning, enjoyment, achievement and wellbeing at the heart of all the school does. It provides a broad and ambitious curriculum with practical resources and processes that inspire and motivate teachers as they facilitate their pupils’ holistic development. It helps all participants on a journey of positive changes through its in-depth, person-centred, collaborative approach.

Never before has it been so important to prepare children with the essential attitudes, skills, knowledge and values they will need to grow into independent thinkers, equipped with attributes to be happy, healthy, successful and fulfilled global citizens.
